Review of draft Viability Criteria for Application to Interior Columbia Basin Salmonid ESUs

In a March 16, 2007 letter from NOAA Fisheries, Dr. Usha Varanasi requested that the ISAB review the March, 2007 technical review draft of the Viability Criteria for Application to Interior Columbia Basin Salmonid ESUs.

The ISAB finds that the proposed criteria are based on a well-reasoned and well-supported set of scientific principles and are presented in a relatively transparent fashion with clear guidelines and examples for their application.

The ISAB also offers some suggestions for improving the draft viability criteria document and approach.
